Tempe · A plain-language guide

Read the record behind a claim.

Use the record that answers your question. A licence record answers a different question from a medicine label or a price page.

Federal and price records checked: September 26, 2026.

Arizona search source checked: October 3, 2026.

Arizona record limits checked: October 6, 2026.

A common assumption

Can a licence record prove a medicine works?

Arizona board searches show professional records; they cannot establish the status of a medicine made to order.

A particular product is what FDA approves, rather than a clinician or pharmacy; FDA means Food and Drug Administration. A

For doctors with MD after their name, the Arizona Medical Board’s Doctor Search links to licence records and public board orders.

Public board orders are the board’s written decisions about a doctor’s licence. B

Read the decision and ask the board whether it limits the care the doctor can give.

A common assumption

Which source answers the compounding question?

Compounding is the name for making a medicine to order.

That medicine does not get FDA review of safety, results or quality before it is marketed. C

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are medicines with approved products used for type 2 diabetes or weight loss.

FDA’s updates showed no national shortage listing for semaglutide injections or tirzepatide injections at the September 26, 2026 check. D

A national shortage listing changes the federal limits on making copies of approved medicines to order.

One pharmacy running out does not create that permission.

Read the precise product name. Then read any conditions or limits alongside the claim. A headline alone leaves out too much.

A common assumption

Are the billing examples a Tempe price survey?

The membership example comes from a September 26, 2026 check of national service adverts, not a survey of Tempe businesses.

Advertised fees are not evidence of a completed purchase or of the care’s quality.

Treat that example as a prompt to separate the bill into parts. Ask for your own written quote.

The example for paying without insurance comes from a government medicine price page.

It is for Ozempic pens, devices used to inject semaglutide, a medicine with uses for type 2 diabetes. E

The temporary Medicare price and its limits come from the agency that runs the program. F

A common assumption

Does the absence of a problem in a record settle it?

Arizona’s board websites do not contain the full public history of every licence. G

Reports of unwanted effects do not by themselves prove a drug caused them or show how often they occur. H

If a source cannot answer your question, write down what is still missing. Ask the clinician, pharmacy or board for help with that question.
